Have you ever wondered how using Cannabis would affect you?

Learn about Cannabis 2.0 while celebrating the arrival of warmer weather at this backyard event presenting a freshly cooked meal using locally produced ingredients. Enjoy delicious charcoal barbecued handmade sausages on pillowy pretzel buns with a wide selection of toppings from homemade mustard, mayonnaise, pickles, peppers, and sauerkraut toppings. The meal will be accompanied with a selection of fresh salads and beverages.

The evening will include an educational presentation from Cannabis scientist, Dr. Brent Guppy, along with Reefer Medness - The Podcast hosts, Pharmacist Trevor Shewfelt and Registered Nurse Kirk Nyquist. The trio will provide insights to using medical and recreational Cannabis 2.0 items.

Those interested in learning more about Cannabis 2.0 are welcome to sample "gifted" infused items. You need not consume Cannabis 2.0 items to benefit from attending.

Presenters:

Dr. Brent Guppy Ph.D. - With a degree in Biochemistry and Medical Genetics from the University of Manitoba, Dr. Guppy has completed two post-doctoral fellowships in international centres, and has extensive experience in biochemistry, medical genetics, drug research and development, and analytical biochemistry. Dr. Guppy is currently the Chief Science Officer for BioScision Pharma, a Canadian Cannabis company that produces several Cannabis 2.0 drug products for the Canadian medical and recreational markets. In combination with his colleagues, Dr. Guppy built the company from ground up and played an integral role in attaining success and profitability within the Canadian cannabis industry. 

Kirk Nyquist RN., BSN., MA. - With 40 years of nursing, Kirk is the co-host of Reefer Medness - The Podcast. He explores plant medicine in a measured and professional manner. Nursing across generations, his experience includes adult education, emergency response, front-line management, and nursing practice within remote Manitoba communities. He was raised and educated with a west-coast sensitivity believing personal wellness is always defined by the individual.

Trevor Shewfelt BSc., BSc., Pharm., CRE. - A Pharmacist since 1997, Trevor co-hosts Reefer Medness - The Podcast. He has helped train a new generation of health practitioners on such subjects as: pharmacology of mental health, dementia in the elderly, and the endocannabinoid system. He has published in pharmacy trade magazines and wrote weekly newspaper and radio articles about common health complaints. His family is also hosting the meal.

Dinner: A warm evening sitting around picnic tables in a backyard enjoying a delicious meal of charcoal barbecued handmade sausages on specially made pretzel buns with a wide selection of toppings from homemade mustard, mayonnaise, pickles, peppers and sauerkraut toppings. Educational Seminar: Dr. Guppy will discuss how he applies his extensive experience in biochemistry, medical genetics, drug research and development, and analytical biochemistry to the Cannabis 2.0 industry. Kirk and Trevor will discuss a variety of topics, such as the benefits and risks associated, with consuming Cannabis 2.0 items.

Reefer Medness - The Al Fresco Affair is designed to be an educational seminar held during a picnic.  We will discuss both medical and recreational aspects of Cannabis 2.0.

Participants will have opportunity to sample "gifted" Cannabis 2.0 items.

Is Cannabis being sold during event?

NO!

Reefer Medness - The Al Fresco Affair is a Cannabis 2.0 educational seminar being held at a private residence. Those interested have opportunities to sample Cannabis 2.0 items.

We are not licensed to sell cannabis.

You are not paying for Cannabis 2.0 items during this educational seminar. 

The Cannabis 2.0 items available are gifted and will be measured doses. We ask those who are new to Cannabis 2.0 to:

1) Self identify during the picnic. 

2) "Go Low, Go Slow." 

3) Have a companion to accompany you after the Affair is complete.

4) Be self aware of personal limitation.

5) Not to operate machinery.

There will be ingredient lists for each menu item displayed during the picnic. We expect those with food allergies to be self aware.

Is alcohol available?

No. This event is a Gastronomical Cannabis Educational Seminar. Those who choose to sample the Cannabis 2.0 items are discouraged from drinking alcohol during the seminar.

Is there parking?

There is limited availability to park. Reefer Medness - The Al Fresco Affair is being held in a backyard within a residential neighbourhood. We strongly encourage people to Walk, Bicycle, and/or be Dropped off. We also encourage those who fully participate in the "gifted' Cannabis 2.0 items, NOT DRIVE away from event; if required a ride home will be arranged.
